Nellie McRae Dunn, 92 of West End died Saturday March 7, at Manor Care Nursing facility, Pinehurst. Funeral services were held Wednesday, March 11 at West End Presbyterian Church. The Rev. Larry Lyons officiated. Burial followed at West End Cemetery.
Mrs. Dunn was born in Montgomery County, she was the daughter to the late Oscar McRae and Beulah (Harris) McRae. She worked for Home Furniture Company of West End as Office Manager and Sales Representative. Later she worked for Maxwell Furniture, BB&T and First Bank as a teller and at Wal-Mart as an associate.
Mrs. Dunn was a member of the West End Presbyterian Church since the late 1940’s where she served as a Deacon and was active in the Women’s Circle. Her love and passion was for her family and church.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years Edward A. Dunn; son, Edward Eugene Dunn; brothers, Bill & Farrell McRae; and sisters, Dorothy Morgan, Mary Dunn, Grace Hogg, Martha Baron.
She is survived by her daughter, Brenda Richardson and husband Wayne of Clinton; son, Jim Dunn and wife Hope of Fort Mill, SC; two brothers, Leon McRae and wife Mary of Rockingham; Robert McRae and wife Leona of Columbus, MS; nine grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren and five great great-grandchildren.
Boles Funeral Home of Seven Lakes assisted the family.
