Mildred Elizabeth Thompson Luck, 85, died Wednesday, January 21, at her home in West End surrounded by family.  Funeral services were held on Sunday, January 25, at Middle Cross Baptist Church where she was a member.

 

Rev. Jim Strickland, Rev. David Reynolds and Rev. Robin Hardison officiated. Burial followed at Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Luck was born in Jackson Springs and was the daughter to the late Lonnie Jones Thompson and Ethel Lee Britt Thompson.

She was loving and thoughtful, giving, and a great cook, enjoyed talking with people, researching family history, reading, and traveling.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Teresa Anne McKenzie; son, Larry Randall Luck; her sisters, Mary Evellen, and twins Lela Maxine and Lula Pauline Thompson; her sister, Ruth Robertson; brothers, Lonnie James “LJ" Carlton, and Glenn Thompson, and sister-in-law Vernie Reid.

Survivors include her husband of sixty-eight years, Lonnie Monroe Luck of the home; daughters, Judith Muller and husband John; Pat Blake and husband Parks; son, Andy Luck and wife Tricia; grandchildren; great grandchildren; sister Jessie Mae Kellis and husband Max; son-in-law, Larry McKenzie and daughter-in-law, Debbie Luck; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
