Violet Lillian Everhart, 90, of Seven Lakes, died Sunday, March 1, at Elmcroft Assisted Living, Southern Pines. Services will be private.

Born in Rockwood, Pennsylvania she was the daughter to the late Elmer and Pearl Hooper. She was a graduate from Robertsdale High School.

She married Donald G. Everhart in 1946 after their marriage they resided in Huntingdon, PA for thirty years. Mrs. Everhart enjoyed many activities throughout the years to include, card games, being a girl scout leader, sewing, knitting, ceramics and other crafts. She was a champion golfer at the Huntingdon Country Club and was both women’s champion and husband and wife champion for several years.

Mrs. Everhart owned and operated the “Sugar and Spice Candy Store” in Huntingdon.

In 1977, she and her husband Donald moved to Seven Lakes, where she was active in tennis, played on championship teams on both the regional and national level.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Donald. In August of 2011, she moved to Elmcroft Assisted Living in Southern Pines.

Survivors include her daughter, Barbara K. Lipkin of Lakewood, CO; two grandchildren, Jeff and wife Alaina, and Andrea both of Denver, CO; and her great-grandson, Trevor.

Memorial donations may be made to West End United Methodist Church, 4015 NC Hwy 73, West End, NC 27376.
